An Erasmus+ youth exchange "Be Active, Be Effective" took place on 23-31 October 2016 in Madrid, Spain

The Youth Exchange “Be Active, Be Effective” gathered 29 youngsters from Spain, Georgia, Greece and Serbia in order to share, and extend their current knowledge and skills and to acquire new ones with regards to healthy lifestyle and social inclusion. The project was implemented in Manjiron, Spain from 23rd to 31st of October, 2016. During the project were discussed the problems such are: Physical inactivity, increasing tobacco use, excessive consumption of alcohol, poor diet and nutrition and etc. We decided to focus on these topics by raising awareness and improving the capacity of the involved youngsters to develop new attitudes in favor of healthy lifestyle thereby addressing the issue. This project gave us an opportunity to achieve following objectives: - To explore the concept of healthy lifestyle and discuss current issues related to the nutrition and sports through sharing good practices and experiences related to prevention of diseases caused by lack of exercise and poor eating habits; - To provide participants with theoretical and practical opportunities to improve their physical and health competences; - To foster youngsters to become peer educators and to create a network to work as multipliers for healthy lifestyle and promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for health education and, - To promote youth interactions, networks and partnerships.. The whole project was based on non-formal or informal activities, all of them were dynamic, active and designed in a way that would develop participants’ competencies about sports, physical activity, healthy eating, living and acting, in accordance to social inclusion practices. A part from this, participants explored different sports and physical activities during the project so that they could find their favorite one to continue practicing and promoting it back to their daily life
